A treasure of our city is gone and I'm sad. Walt enjoyed a hot fudge sundae from my store, Foo's every now and again. He was always very kind to me. RIP

My sincerest condolences to the Bodine family.

Your Dad was truly a class act and a compassionate human being.

Mr. Walt Bodine shall be missed- but more importantly Walt will always be remembered.

Walt, I am lucky to have had you as a mentor (while in college), a colleague (while working at KCUR), and a friend (all along). You also gave me the opportunity to "teach" your class at UMKC, and introduced me to Dixon's Chili.

Thank you, Walt.

In the 60's WHB was the soundtrack of my youth. During the day it was Johhny Dolan and Phil Jay. But at bedtime I remember lying in bed with my transistor radio listening to your dad on "Night Beat".

For me, he is as much a fabric of Kansas City and my youth as Tory Southwick and Whizzo the Clown.

I'm very sorry for your loss. It is shared by millions.

Peace.

I've moved from the KC area, but when I'm in town...I can hardly wait to hear your show. Miss your wonderful voice and your programming...enjoy retirement. Do something crazy that you've always wanted to do! Blessings!

Walt would always be a gracious host when he'd come home from work and his son's rock and roll band would be practicing in the den. I was in that band. I remember.

Let me know what you say to that!
